The Bright Paper is a once-a-day reading list of good news from Austin, across the USA, India, the business world, and around the globe. It exists because most news feeds reward outrage, and a morning read does not have to feel like that.
How stories are chosen
Every morning the site reads the public feeds of the publishers listed below. Each new headline goes through two checks: a word filter that drops anything about elections, parties, and politicians, and an automated review that keeps only stories a reader would find pleasant, hopeful, or genuinely interesting. Crime, war, disasters, deaths, lawsuits, and layoffs are left out even when framed hopefully.
Each section shows up to twelve stories a day, and the archive keeps the last two weeks. If nothing passes, the section simply says it was a quiet news day.
